According to Chapter 5's Queen Bitch, the 1994 publication of Steve Jackson Games'
edition of Principia Discordia inspired giving the award to its two main authors, Malaclypse
and Omar. As the award was given months before the book was published, we can only
assume this was in anticipation of its release. We're happy to have a copy of the original

Malaclypse the Younger, who allegedly inhabited Gregory Hill, is listed as the prime
author of Principia Discordia and a co-creator of the DIscordian religion. Is
Discordianism a religion disguised as a joke or a joke disguised as a religion? The
debate goes on. As Greg Hill was difficult to track down, Queen Bitch doesn't know how
he was found. She thinks his O.P. certificate was entrusted to someone else, possibly
the much easier to find Omar, and then delivered to Greg. Or perhaps he never
received it. We may never know.

Omar, aka Kerry Thornley, co-created Discordianism, created much of Principia
Discordia, was the first and only person to write a book about Lee Harvey Oswald
before he was arrested as the suspected assassin of President John F. Kennedy, and
apparently coined "neo-paganism." Thornley was also investigated.
